Monalisa Touch

The Mona Lisa Touch Laser treatment is designed for Vaginal and Vulvar health. It is an in-office procedure using fractional CO2 laser energy to vaginal and vulvar tissue.

It has been researched and proven to abate and coagulate tissue to promote neo-collagenesis and angiogenesis. This occurs when the CO2 laser penetrates into the tissue to encourage new cell production of Hyaluronic acid, collagen, and glycogen from within the cell. The effect of this is new collagen, natural moisture, increased elasticity and vascularization of the epdermis.

Indication: Vulvovaginal atrophy, dryness of tissue, painful intercourse, recurrent urinary tract infections, recurrent vulvovaginal infections, and possibly Lichen Sclerosus.

Treatment Time: 10 minutes.

The treatment is not painful. We apply topical lidocaine to the vulvar tissue for about 7-10 minutes prior to the procedure.

Patients are asked to abstain from sex for 2-3 days after treatment.

Patients with a history of herpes should take Valtrex one day prior, the day of and one day after the procedure to prevent re-activation.

The treatment effect lasts for nearly one year. Depending on the degree of atrophy we may recommend an initial series of three treatments and then a yearly booster treatment after the original loading.
